TYPES OF HEARING LOSS



 You think that the problem of hearing loss occurs only in the late life. You know that 1 in 3 of Americans over the age of 65 having the problem of hearing loss,1 in 10 of all Americans can have hearing loss in varying degree. It is not mandatory that the problem of hearing loss occur only in the late age. It is true that some of the children and young people having the problem of hearing loss because of many reasons. So Hearing loss can occur in any age and due to the any reason.

In general there are three types of hearing loss:-
Conductive
Sensorineural
Mixed (Which is a combination of the above two)

Conductive Hearing Loss:-
Conductive hearing loss occur due to the problem or disorder in the outer ear or the middle of the ear. Sound is prevented from the inner ear, but they speak distorted or faint. There are some reasons behind the conductive hearing loss which include infection, fluid and wax bulid up in the middle ear, foreign objects in the ear canal or a preforated eardrum. Generally the surgeries and medical treatment successfully solve the problem of conductive hearing loss in a complete or partial manner.

Conductive Hearing Loss



Sensorineural Hearing Loss:-
This type of hearing loss occurs when the nerves of the ear get damaged and unable to transfer the signals to the brain. In this type of Hearing loss sound is not clear to the patient, because the nerves of the inner ear and sensory cells got damaged over the time. This is the most common type of hearing loss as people age. However this type of hearing loss occur due to the diabetes, injury, exposure to the loud sound ,ototoxic medicines, heredity and a variety of diseases. This type of hearing problem could be solved by using the various instruments that helps in improving the hearing loss.


Sensorineural Hearing Loss


Mixed Hearing Loss:-
This type of hearing loss is a combination of both the Conductive and Sensorineral hearing loss. A Hearing care Professional can provide the best treatment to solve this type of hearing loss. Mainly this type of hearing loss problem is solved by using the various hearing instruments.
